About this blog

Who counts beds and more importantly why count beds? Good question and I'm still working on the answer.  Right now, I'm living my midlife gap year and writing about aspects. Some postings are historical, after-the-fact pieces. Some are current time.

What exactly is a midlife gap year?  For me the gap year is time off from paid work. Since the husband and I are essentially without a permanent home, (houseless according to one niece) we travel/have traveled, a lot -- hence the 50+ beds. There is much I want from this gap year -- to see new places, to figure out this next phase of life, to discover who I am without my job and office, to meet new people, reconnect with family and friends. And to have fun. All is possible fodder for this blog. By the way, "the bed" count is really a metaphor for a life in transition.

Life is short. I better get crackin'.
